The series was conceptualized in the mid-1990s, when its producers Navin Shah and Simon Eaddy were in their 20s, but it took years for them to get the script right. The serial has been produced by Yash Raj Films' UK branch. The serial is filmed entirely in London and has been shot on elaborate sets resembling ancient Indian cities, with some exotic location shooting taking place in India too. Ravi N. Chaudhary has written the screenplay for the series while Amit Trivedi is composing music for it . A few frames of the serial have been showcased on YRF's official website . Bindass offers a high quality video in a wide range of formats, including HD-DVD and Blu-ray.

The series featured a soundtrack album release titled " Bindass Presents Ajayachak". The soundtrack album consisted of eleven tracks with music composed by Amit Trivedi. The song 'Dil To Dil' was written by Rajesh Roshan and sung by Kunal Ganjawala while 'Chaiya Chaiya' lyrics were penned by Gulzar. The series was released on 1 January 2010 on the Indian digital terrestrial television. It was also released in two different versions, one dubbed in Hindi and another dubbed in Telugu. The serial aired at 9:00 pm every Monday to Friday from Sony Pal pal pal PTI channel. The series lost its privilege today, but is still available for viewing on Zee Tv channel number 54410, And also Zinga TV too. The series has been removed from Zee Tv channel 'Zinga TV' due to some copyright issue with the production house Bindass.. The performance of the serial was very poor and failed to deliver the expected viewership. The show was widely criticized and had faced a huge amount of opposition from the viewers.The series was released in DVD format by Yash Raj Films in 2010.

The series caught a major controversy for its crude usage of Hindi language. Due to its incorrect usage, YRF has been taken to court over this issue by Haryana chapter of Indian Hindi Academy (IHA), which is India’s oldest Hindi academy . IHA claims that the usage of incorrect Hindi has hurt the sentiments of millions who speak and understand it correctly and wishes to ban this serial for propagating incorrect Hindi.
